Kojic Acid Melt & Pour Soap Recipe

Kojic Acid Melt & Pour Soap Recipe

Ingredients:
• 1kg Melt and Pour Soap Base
• 10–20g Kojic Acid Dipalmitate (1–2%)
• 20–30g IPM (Isopropyl Myristate)
• 5–10g Fragrance oil
• Water soluble Dye optional
•Bubble go spray

Method:

  1. Cut the melt and pour soap base into small cubes.
  2. Melt the soap base slowly using a microwave or double boiler. Keep temperature between 55–65°C and avoid overheating.
  3. In a separate container, combine the Kojic Acid Dipalmitate with the IPM and mix thoroughly until evenly dispersed.
  4. Allow the melted soap base to cool to below 50°C.
  5. Add the Kojic Acid Dipalmitate/IPM mixture to the soap base and stir thoroughly for even distribution.
  6. Add fragrance and colour if desired.
  7. Pour into moulds and spray the surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles.
  8. Allow to harden completely before unmoulding.

Important Notes:

• Avoid using too much IPM because excess amounts may soften the soap.
• Store finished soap away from direct sunlight and heat.
• Test small batches first to check for separation or crystal formation.
• Results from rinse-off products are usually milder than leave-on formulations.
