Fun With Soap Beginner Recipe Pack

Beginner Melt & Pour Soap
Ingredients
500g Melt & Pour Soap Base
5–10ml Fragrance Oil
Soap Colourant (optional)
Method
Cut the soap base into small cubes.
Melt gently in the microwave using short bursts.
Stir until fully melted.
Add fragrance and colour.
Pour into moulds.
Spray with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles.
Allow to harden completely before unmoulding.
Beginner Bath Salts
Ingredients
500g Epsom Salt
250g Coarse Sea Salt
10ml Fragrance Oil
Bath Salt Colourant (optional)
Method
Combine the salts in a bowl.
Add fragrance and mix thoroughly.
Add colour if desired.
Store in an airtight container.
Usage
Add 1–2 cups to a warm bath.
Beginner Body Butter
Ingredients
100g Shea Butter
50g Coconut Oil
50g Sweet Almond Oil
5ml Fragrance Oil (optional)
Method
Melt the shea butter and coconut oil.
Add sweet almond oil and stir.
Cool until partially solid.
Whip until light and fluffy.
Add fragrance and whip again.
Transfer to jars.
Beginner Hand & Body Wash
Ingredients
450ml Liquid Castile Soap
40ml Vegetable Glycerine
10ml Fragrance Oil
Colour (optional)
Method
Combine castile soap and glycerine.
Stir gently.
Add fragrance and colour.
Bottle and label.
Beginner Hand & Body Lotion (Made From Scratch)
Makes 100g
Water Phase
74g Distilled Water
5g Vegetable Glycerine
Oil Phase
8g Sweet Almond Oil
5g Shea Butter
3g Emulsifying Wax NF
2g Cetyl Alcohol
Cool Down Phase
1g Preservative
2g Fragrance Oil
Method
Step 1
Heat the distilled water and glycerine to 70–75°C.
Step 2
In a separate container, heat the sweet almond oil, shea butter, emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol to 70–75°C.
Step 3
Pour the water phase into the oil phase.
Step 4
Blend using a stick blender for 1–2 minutes.
Step 5
Continue stirring as the lotion cools.
Step 6
When the lotion reaches below 40°C, add the preservative and fragrance oil.
Step 7
Mix thoroughly and pour into bottles or jars.
Step 8
Allow 24–48 hours for the lotion to thicken fully.
Important
Always use a preservative when making products that contain water.
Beginner Lotion Bars
Makes Approximately 100g
Ingredients
35g Shea Butter
35g Beeswax
30g Sweet Almond Oil
2g Fragrance Oil (optional)
Method
Add the shea butter, beeswax and sweet almond oil to a heatproof container.
Melt gently using a double boiler.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Add fragrance oil and stir well.
Pour into silicone moulds.
Allow to cool and harden completely.
Remove from moulds and package.
How to Use
Rub the lotion bar between your hands or directly onto warm skin. The natural body heat will melt a small amount of the bar, leaving the skin soft and moisturised.
