Relaxing Lavender & Bergamot Bath Sherbet

Ingredients

• 450 g Sodium Bicarbonate
• 225 g Citric Acid
• 150 g Fine Epsom Salt
• 100 g Cornstarch
• 50 g Kaolin Clay
• 15 g Sweet Almond Oil
• 10 g Polysorbate 80
• 8 g Lavender Essential Oil
• 6 g Bergamot Fragrance Oil
• Purple mica or a water-soluble cosmetic colour (optional)

Instructions

1. Sift together the sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, Epsom salt, cornstarch, and kaolin clay.
2. In a separate container, combine the sweet almond oil, Polysorbate 80, lavender essential oil, and bergamot fragrance oil.
3. Slowly drizzle the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients while mixing continuously to prevent premature fizzing.
4. Add the colour a little at a time until the desired shade is reached.
5. The finished mixture should resemble damp sand and hold together when squeezed in your hand.
6. Package immediately in airtight jars or moisture-resistant stand-up pouches.

Directions for Use

Add 2–4 tablespoons to warm running bath water and allow it to dissolve completely before soaking for 20–30 minutes.

Why Polysorbate 80?

Polysorbate 80 helps disperse the oils and fragrance evenly throughout the bath water, reducing the amount of oil left on the surface and helping to minimise a slippery bathtub. It also improves the overall bathing experience.

Storage

No preservative is required because the product is anhydrous (contains no water). Store in a cool, dry place in airtight packaging to protect it from moisture.
