Leave-In Conditioning Spray for Dogs
Ingredients
- Distilled water — 471 g
- Glycerine — 10 g
- Panthenol — 5 g
- BTMS-25 — 10 g
- Euxyl PE 9010 — 4 g
- 10% Citric acid solution — as needed to adjust pH
Method
- Add the distilled water to a sanitised heat-safe container.
- Add the glycerine and panthenol and mix well.
- Add the BTMS-25.
- Heat to approximately 70–75°C, stirring until the BTMS-25 has completely melted and dispersed.
- Remove from the heat and continue stirring while the mixture cools.
- Once below 40°C, add the Euxyl PE 9010 and mix thoroughly.
- Check the pH.
- Add the 10% citric acid solution a little at a time until the pH is approximately 4.8–5.2.
- Mix thoroughly and allow the product to cool completely.
- Transfer into a clean spray bottle.
Directions
Lightly spray onto the dog’s coat, avoiding the eyes, nose, mouth and inside of the ears. Brush or work through the coat after application.
Do not apply to broken, irritated or damaged skin.
Important
Keep the formula fragrance-free and essential-oil-free. Because this is a leave-in product, dogs may lick their coats after application.
For commercial sale, the finished product should undergo appropriate preservative efficacy/challenge testing, stability testing and microbial testing before being offered to customers.
