🌿 Moisturizer for Dry Skin – 100g Recipe

Deeply Hydrating | Nourishing | Soothing

This rich, non-greasy moisturizer is formulated to comfort dry, flaky, or dehydrated skin. Designed for beginners and crafters alike, this recipe uses natural, skin-loving ingredients that work together to replenish moisture, protect the skin barrier, and restore a soft, healthy glow.

💧Why It Works:

Dry skin often lacks both oil and water. Therefore, this formulation includes a balance of humectants, emollients, and occlusives. Glycerin and aloe vera draw moisture into the skin. Meanwhile, nourishing oils and butters like shea, sweet almond, and calendula-infused grapeseed oil seal in hydration and add essential fatty acids.

🧴Ingredients (100g Batch):

  • Distilled Water – 65g (Hydration base)

  • Glycerin (vegetable) – 3g (Humectant to attract moisture)

  • Aloe Vera Gel (pure) – 5g (Soothes and cools irritated skin)

  • Emulsifying Wax (Olivem 1000 or Polawax) – 7g (Blends oil and water into a stable lotion)

  • Shea Butter – 5g (Rich in vitamins A and E for softening and repairing)

  • Sweet Almond Oil – 8g (Light, nourishing oil for sensitive or dry skin)

  • Calendula Infused Grapeseed Oil – 5g (Calms irritation and supports skin healing)

  • Vitamin E Oil (Tocopherol) – 0.5g (Antioxidant and preservative booster)

  • Preservative (Geogard 221, Optiphen, etc.) – 1g (Prevents microbial growth)

  • Essential Oil (Lavender or Chamomile) – 0.5g (Optional – gentle scent and calming effect)

🛠 Method:

  1. Oil Phase: Combine emulsifying wax, shea butter, sweet almond oil, and calendula-infused grapeseed oil in a beaker.

  2. Water Phase: In a separate heatproof container, combine distilled water, glycerin, and aloe vera gel.

  3. Heat Both Phases: Warm both containers to 70°C using a double boiler or hot water bath.

  4. Emulsify: Pour the oil phase into the water phase slowly, then blend with a stick blender for 3–5 minutes until it thickens to a creamy texture.

  5. Cool & Finish: Once the mixture cools to below 40°C, stir in vitamin E, preservative, and essential oil.

  6. Package: Pour into a sanitized jar or lotion bottle. Label clearly with the product name and date.
