Hydrating & Moisturising Hand Lotion Recipe
Phase A – Water Phase
- Distilled water — 725 g
- Glycerine — 40 g
- Xanthan gum — 2 g
B – Oil Phase
- Shea butter — 50 g
- Sweet almond oil — 50 g
- Emulsifying Wax — 70 g
- Cetostearyl alcohol (Ceto alcohol) — 20 g
Phase C – Cool-down
- Vitamin E — 5 g
- Fragrance oil — 10 g
- Euxyl PE 9010 — 10 g
- Panthenol — 15 g
- Sodium lactate — 3 g
Total: 1,000 g
Method – Hand Lotion Recipe
- Mix the xanthan gum into the glycerine until smooth.
- Add this mixture to the distilled water and mix well.
- Heat Phase A to approximately 70–75°C.
- In a separate container, combine Phase B and heat to 70–75°C until completely melted.
- Slowly add Phase B to Phase A while blending.
- Blend for 2–3 minutes, then continue stirring while the lotion cools.
- Below 40°C, add Phase C ingredients.
- Mix thoroughly and allow the lotion to cool completely.
- Fill into clean, sanitised lotion bottles or pump containers.
Result: A creamy, hydrating hand lotion with glycerine, panthenol and sodium lactate for hydration, while shea butter and almond oil provide moisturisation and softness.
