Gentle Baby Wash (1kg)

Ingredients

• Distilled Water – 71% (710 g)
• Vegetable Glycerine – 3% (30 g)
• Cocamidopropyl Betaine – 10% (100 g)
• Decyl Glucoside – 8% (80 g)
• Coco Glucoside – 5% (50 g)
• Lamesoft® PO 65 – 2% (20 g)
• Euxyl® K712 – 1% (10 g)

Total: 100% (1000 g)

Method

1. Add the distilled water to a clean mixing vessel.
2. Add the vegetable glycerine and stir until fully mixed.
3. Slowly add the Cocamidopropyl Betaine, stirring gently to minimise foam.
4. Add the Decyl Glucoside and mix well.
5. Add the Coco Glucoside and stir gently until uniform.
6. Add the Lamesoft® PO 65 and mix until fully incorporated.
7. Add the Euxyl® K712 preservative and mix thoroughly.
8. Check the pH and adjust to 5.0–5.5 using a 20% citric acid solution if required.
9. Allow the baby wash to stand for 12–24 hours so that any trapped air bubbles can dissipate before bottling.

Finished Product

• Appearance: Clear to slightly pearly (depending on the raw materials used)
• pH: 5.0–5.5
• Skin Feel: Mild, soft and non-drying
• Suitable For: Babies, children and sensitive skin
• Fragrance: Leave fragrance-free for newborns and sensitive skin. If formulating for older children, fragrance should be used only if it is specifically approved as suitable for baby products and at an appropriate low level.
