MENTHOL AND EUCALYPTUS SHOWER STEAMERS RECIPE
Makes approximately 6 to 8 medium shower steamers depending on the size of your moulds
INGREDIENTS
200 g Sodium Bicarbonate
100 g Citric Acid
25 g Cornstarch
2 g Menthol Crystals finely crushed
3 ml Eucalyptus Essential Oil
1 ml Peppermint Essential Oil
Witch Hazel in a fine mist spray bottle as needed
METHOD
1 Place the sodium bicarbonate citric acid and cornstarch in a dry mixing bowl and mix thoroughly until evenly combined
2 In a separate small container combine the finely crushed menthol crystals with the eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils Stir until the menthol dissolves as far as possible If crystals remain do not assume the mixture is uniform
3 Slowly add the menthol and essential oil mixture to the dry ingredients while mixing continuously to distribute it evenly
4 Lightly mist with witch hazel one spray at a time while mixing Stop as soon as the mixture holds together when squeezed in your hand Do not make it wet or allow it to fizz
5 Firmly press the mixture into dry silicone moulds Compact it well to help prevent crumbling
6 Leave the steamers in a cool dry well ventilated area for 24 to 48 hours or longer if necessary until completely hard
7 Carefully remove them from the moulds and allow any remaining moisture to evaporate before packaging
HOW TO USE
Place one shower steamer on the shower floor away from the direct stream of water but where occasional splashes can activate it
IMPORTANT NOTES
These steamers are for shower use only and are not intended for bathing or direct skin application
Menthol and essential oils can irritate the eyes and airways Avoid inhaling concentrated vapour directly
Use caution around children pets and anyone sensitive to fragrances
Store completely dry steamers in airtight packaging in a cool dry place
Test a small batch first Hardness fragrance release and storage stability depend on humidity compression and packaging
