Recipes using Horse Chestnut Extract

Horse Chestnut Extract is widely used in skincare because it helps improve circulation, reduce puffiness, strengthen capillaries, and support overall skin tone.

1. Horse Chestnut Firming Eye Gel

This lightweight gel helps reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles while hydrating the delicate eye area.

Batch Size: 100g

Ingredients

  • Distilled Water – 84g

  • Aloe Vera Liquid – 10g

  • Glycerine – 3g

  • Xanthan Gum – 0.5g

  • Horse Chestnut Extract – 2g

  • Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5) – 0.5g

  • Preservative (Euxyl PE9010 or similar) – 1g

Method

  1. Mix the glycerine and xanthan gum together to prevent clumping.

  2. Slowly add the distilled water and aloe vera liquid while mixing.

  3. Blend until a smooth gel forms.

  4. Add the horse chestnut extract and panthenol and mix well.

  5. Stir in the preservative.

  6. Bottle the gel in a pump or airless container.

Phase B – Oil Phase

  • Cetyl Alcohol – 4g

Phase C – Cool Down Phase

  • Horse Chestnut Extract – 6g

  • Vitamin E – 2g

  • Peppermint Essential Oil – 1g

  • Cypress Essential Oil – 1g

  • Preservative – 2g

Method

  1. Heat Phase A and Phase B separately to approximately 70°C.

  2. Pour the oil phase into the water phase while blending.

  3. Continue mixing until a stable emulsion forms.

  4. Allow the mixture to cool to below 40°C.

  5. Add the Phase C ingredients and mix thoroughly.

  6. Pour the finished cream into jars.
