ROSEMARY & MINT SHAMPOO
1 KG
INGREDIENTS
Distilled Water — 669 g
Glycerine — 30 g
Acrylates Copolymer SF-1 — 50 g
Decyl Glucoside — 100 g
Coco Glucoside — 80 g
Lauryl Glucoside — 50 g
Lamesoft PO 65 — 10 g
Euxyl PE 9010 — 10 g
Rosemary Essential Oil — 0.5 g
Peppermint Essential Oil — 0.5 g
Citric Acid 20% Solution — q.s. to adjust pH
METHOD
- Add the distilled water to a clean, sanitised mixing vessel.
- Slowly add the Acrylates Copolymer SF-1 while mixing gently.
- Add the glycerine and mix until uniform.
- Slowly add the Decyl Glucoside, Coco Glucoside and Lauryl Glucoside. Mix gently to minimise foam.
- Add Lamesoft PO 65 and mix until completely incorporated.
- Add Euxyl PE 9010 and mix gently.
- Add the Rosemary Essential Oil and Peppermint Essential Oil.
- Check the pH and initially adjust to approximately pH 6.5–6.8 to allow the Acrylates Copolymer SF-1 to develop viscosity.
- Once the viscosity has developed, the pH can be carefully lowered with diluted citric acid if desired. For a shampoo, a final pH around 5.0–5.5 is generally suitable, but check the viscosity after adjustment.
- Allow the shampoo to stand for several hours, preferably overnight, to allow the viscosity and foam to settle.
- Check the final weight and adjust with distilled water if necessary to make exactly 1,000 g.
- Bottle into clean, sanitised shampoo bottles.
