Fragrance Oil 0.3 3 g
Total 100% 1000 g

Method

Phase A

  1. Wear gloves, eye protection, and a dust mask when handling SCI and SLSa.
  2. Combine the Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Shea Butter, and BTMS-25 in a heatproof bowl.
  3. Heat over a double boiler to 70–75°C, stirring until completely melted.

Phase B

  1. Add the Cocamidopropyl Betaine and stir until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the SCI, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Add the SLSa and Disodium EDTA, mixing until a thick, uniform dough forms.

Cool Down

  1. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool to below 40°C.
  2. Add the Euxyl PE 9010 and fragrance oil, mixing thoroughly until evenly incorporated.

Moulding

  1. Press the mixture firmly into silicone moulds, eliminating any air pockets.
  2. Allow the bars to cool completely before unmoulding.
  3. Leave the bars to harden for 24–48 hours before use.

Finished Product

  • Rich, dense, creamy shaving lather
  • Excellent razor glide
  • Hard, long-lasting bar
  • Mild, skin-friendly pH (approximately 5.0–5.5)

Formulation Notes

  • Euxyl PE 9010 should be added below 40°C for best performance.
  • Check the final pH and adjust if necessary to 5.0–5.5 using a dilute citric acid solution.
  • If you want an even creamier, more stable lather, you can replace 2% SCI with 2% Kaolin Clay. This is a popular addition to shaving products because it enhances slip and razor glide without significantly reducing cleansing performance.

This is a balanced, beginner-friendly formulation suitable for facial shaving, head shaving, and body shaving, and is appropriate for small-scale production.
