Method

  1. Premix the xanthan gum with the vegetable glycerine to form a smooth slurry.
  2. Heat the distilled water to 60–70°C.
  3. Add the allantoin to the heated water and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Add the xanthan gum/glycerine slurry while mixing until the gum is fully hydrated.
  5. Slowly add the kaolin clay and colloidal oatmeal, mixing until smooth and free of lumps.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool to below 40°C.
  7. Add the cosmetic-grade aloe vera juice, panthenol, and Euxyl® PE 9010. Mix thoroughly after each addition.
  8. Check the pH and adjust to 5.0–5.5 if necessary.
  9. Fill into clean, sanitised cosmetic jars or tubes.

Directions for Use

Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with a moisturiser. Use 1–2 times per week.

Notes

  • Use cosmetic-grade aloe vera juice.
  • Add Euxyl® PE 9010 during the cool-down phase (below 40°C).
  • This formulation is fragrance-free and suitable for most skin types, including dry, dehydrated, mature, and sensitive skin.
  • If adding an essential oil, use 0.2–0.3% and reduce the water percentage accordingly.
  • Verify the finished product has a pH of 5.0–5.5.
  • Before commercial sale, perform stability testing and preservative efficacy (challenge) testing.
