Anti-Chafing Cream
Phase A – Water Phase
- Distilled Water – 62.5%
- Glycerine – 3.0%
Phase B – Oil Phase
- Emulsifying Wax NF – 6.0%
- Cetyl Alcohol – 3.0%
- Sweet Almond Oil – 7.0%
- Shea Butter – 5.0%
- Dimethicone (350 cSt) – 6.0%
- Non-Nano Zinc Oxide – 6.0%
Phase C – Cool Down
- Vitamin E (Tocopherol) – 0.5%
- Euxyl PE 9010 – 1.0%
Total = 100%
Method
- Weigh all ingredients accurately.
- Combine the distilled water and glycerine (Phase A) and heat to 70–75°C.
- In a separate vessel, combine the Emulsifying Wax NF, Cetyl Alcohol, Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter, and Dimethicone (Phase B).
- Pre-disperse the Non-Nano Zinc Oxide into the Dimethicone and Sweet Almond Oil until smooth and lump-free, then add it to the remainder of Phase B.
- Heat Phase B to 70–75°C until the waxes and butter have completely melted.
- Slowly pour Phase B into Phase A while mixing with a stick blender or high-shear mixer.
- Continue mixing for 3–5 minutes until a smooth, homogeneous emulsion forms.
- Stir gently while the cream cools.
- Once the temperature is below 40°C, add the Vitamin E and Euxyl PE 9010. Mix thoroughly.
- Check the pH and adjust to 5.0–5.5 if necessary.
- Fill into clean, sanitised jars or squeeze tubes and allow to cool completely before capping.
